Cat makes the best use of left over packing boxes

Moving with pets can be a delicate maneuver. Owners often go to great lengths to make sure their furry friends are comfortable during the stress of moving even if it's within the same town. Pets are often disoriented by the new surroundings, smells and new sounds. It's best to introduce them slowly to make sure they don't become overwhelmed.

With cats especially, it's best to keep them indoors for a few days until they are used to the new house. If you let them outside right away, they will sometimes take off and not come back. This is because they aren't sure where they are and they aren't sure you are staying either.

If at all possible, arrange your furniture with similarity to the way it was in your previous dwelling. This will help with the transistion as some things will feel familiar even if they are in a new space. If you need a distraction for your cat, just give him a few leftover moving boxes to hide in and he'll be back to himself in no time.
